How are the behavior of traffic participants modeled?

In the interactive scenario simulations, sumo is used for a joint-simulation, so how are the hehaviors of the reactive traffic participants modeled?(IDM for example) also is it possible to change the configuration of other road vehicles to make them more aggressive or conservative?

Hello,

We’re currently using the default models provided by SUMO, i.e., Krauss for car following and LC2013 for lane changing. We don’t feature adjusting the model parameters yet – only for some vehicle parameters can be set (see here; these values are evaluated here). However, if there’s a demand, it’s technically no problem and could be implemented. Would you like to get involved implementing the functionality?

Best regards,
Florian

Than you, I found some information here, but I’m not quite familiar with sumo right now.

Hello,

It appears that you’re especially interested in cognitive models—is that right?
In that case, maybe OpenTrafficSim fits your requirements better?
We’ll publish a coupling of CommonRoad with OpenTrafficSim in the upcoming months.
However, that coupling will not support interactive scenarios at the beginning.
Please notify me if you’re interested in this coupling?

Best regards,
Florian

Yes, I’m interested.
